That the Parliament welcomes the 2026 Hidden Door festival, which is taking place at The Paper Factory in the Maybury area of Edinburgh from 3 to 7 June 2026; understands that the festival opens up urban spaces as a platform for new and emerging artists, musicians, theatre makers, performers, film makers and poets as well as enabling access to spaces often closed to, or not often accessed by, the public; welcomes that, as well as preparing for the festival itself, organisers have been engaging with the Maybury community through drop-in events, litter-picks, creative workshops and a guerrilla garden on the factory floor; understands that Hidden Door is organised by a volunteer-run charity and is entirely funded through ticket sales, sponsorship and fundraising, with all money used to run the festival and ensure that the creative contributors are fairly paid; expresses its thanks to organisers who have, over the past 16 years, supported over 3,000 artists and performers to develop work and reach new audiences, and offers its best wishes to the organisers and participants for a successful 16th edition.
