Celebrating Glover Festival 2026

That the Parliament celebrates the second Glover Festival, which is taking place in Fraserburgh on 14 June 2026, following the success of the 2025 event; acknowledges the global contribution of Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish merchant and industrialist, who played a key role in strengthening relations between Scotland and Japan; recognises the importance of the festival in celebrating both Scottish and Japanese culture, welcoming international guests, providing music and entertainment and benefiting the local community; thanks the Fraserburgh Rotary Club and Glover Committee for their hard work in organising the festival; expresses its thanks to Ocean Winds, Fraserburgh Fitness Centre and Trails for their support; recognises that this is a community-wide effort that many businesses, organisations and groups have contributed to; acknowledges that there will be a naming ceremony for the new Fraserburgh Harbour pilot boat, The Glover; notes that distinguished guests at the festival will include the Consul General of Japan, Katsutoshi Takeda, and the President of Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Systems Europe, Mr Taro Hattori, and congratulates all involved and wishes them every success for the festival.
