Recognising Action on Asbestos for Supporting a New Network of Pleural Nurses

That the Parliament acknowledges the work of Action on Asbestos, formerly known as Clydeside Action on Asbestos, for supporting patients with asbestos-related conditions across Scotland; welcomes its sponsorship of a new network of pleural nurses to assist NHS services; notes that, to date, three new nurses have joined the network, including one in Forth Valley and two in Edinburgh; further notes that two additional nurses based in Inverclyde and Ayrshire are ready to join; recognises that the network was launched on 27 February 2026 at the offices of Action on Asbestos; understands that consultant physicians across NHS Scotland have welcomed the additional support that these nurses will provide to patients, and commends Action on Asbestos for what it sees as its continuing commitment to supporting patients, families and NHS services.
