That the Parliament congratulates the Berwickshire Anti-Litter Group, a small but dedicated community group from the Borders, on its proactive campaign to tackle roadside litter along the A1; recognises the group’s role as a sub-group of Greener Berwickshire and its collaboration with organisations including Sea the Change, Keep Scotland Beautiful, Scottish Borders Council, East Lothian Council, Transport Scotland and Bear Scotland; notes the group’s three-pronged approach of organising regular litter picks, campaigning against litter and fly-tipping and educating the public on responsible disposal of waste; acknowledges the tireless work of volunteers in removing significant quantities of litter, including hazardous and bulky items, from verges and lay-bys; highlights the importance of the group’s efforts in addressing the environmental and reputational damage caused by roadside litter, as well as promoting behavioural change to reduce single-use materials and irresponsible disposal, and commends the members of the Berwickshire Anti-Litter Group.
