That the Parliament congratulates Simon Brown on his retirement after 20 years of dedicated service to the Orkney Library and Archive; understands that Simon was the driver of Orkney’s current mobile library, which is affectionately known to locals as "Booky McBookface", as well as several of its predecessors; notes the vital service that Simon provided to residents in Orkney, connecting island and rural communities with a selection of 2,500 books and resources and always delivered with a customary smile; recognises the challenges that Simon had to contend with in providing a dependable mobile library service, notably adverse weather and sea conditions during ferry trips between islands; thanks Simon for his years of service to the Orkney community, and wishes him all the best for a well-deserved retirement.
