That the Parliament congratulates Anne McLaughlin of Wishaw on her 100th birthday on 28 August 2025; notes that Anne was born in Cambusnethan in 1925 to Mary and George Balmer and was educated at St Ignatius’ Primary in Wishaw and St Joseph’s Secondary in Motherwell; recognises that, after leaving school at 14, she trained as a hairdresser; notes that Anne later met her husband, Joseph McLaughlin, through St Patrick’s Amateur Operatic Society in Craigneuk; commends Anne for her lifetime of family and community ties, and sends her its best wishes on reaching this remarkable milestone.
