The Success of Seagully Blonde

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 28 March 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-16956

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that the Aberdeen Student Show’s 2025 production, Seagully Blonde, will support 50 charities from across the north east of Scotland, with chosen organisations spanning a wide range of aims and objectives; notes that the show will be performed at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen from 23 to 26 April 2025; understands that it raised a record-breaking £156,323.96 for charities in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire with its previous production; further understands that the chosen charities include Down’s Syndrome Scotland Aberdeen, which was chosen as the People’s Choice Charity through a public vote; believes that four additional charities, SANDS, Hamish Dear’s Warm Hugs, LATNEM and CLAN, have been awarded gold-level funding, which will see them receive the highest level of support packages from the student-led society; hopes that the production raises another record-breaking total for the chosen charities, and wishes the organisers and performers all the very best with the production.
