Recognising Local Heroes Crookston Community Group

That the Parliament recognises the ongoing contributions of Crookston Community Group (CCG), a Glasgow-based charity organisation founded in 2012 by Tariq Ali, with the aim to making a positive and tangible contribution to its community; understands that the specific objectives of CCG are alleviating poverty, combating social isolation, improving mental health and well-being, restoring dignity and confidence, increasing access to services, and encouraging positive community interaction; further understands that its key achievements in 2024 were the expansion of food services, increase in volunteer engagement, strengthening of the income generating social enterprises, Tiffin Fresh Food Café and Bella-Rose Hall, and the acquisition of new facilities at Ladymuir Crescent that will enable it to expand its community services; commends the trustees' commitment to Community Advocacy and Environmental Sustainability via the programmes that reduce food waste and promote green initiatives; commends the trustees, staff, and volunteers on their many years of dedication and hard work, and wishes them all the very best for future endeavours.
