  • Motion reference: S6M-15929
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament congratulates David Ruddick, from Dumfries, on being awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse title; understands that the Queen’s Nurse title was reintroduced in 2007 and is a formal recognition that participants are included in a professional network that is committed to delivering outstanding care in the community; commends David for finishing the Queen’s Nursing title’s nine-month development programme; notes that the programme involved completing residential and online workshops, along with individual coaching sessions; recognises that the programme requires participants to choose an issue for development that will have a significant impact on those they care for and provide an opportunity to enhance their skills in this area; acknowledges what it sees as David’s exceptional contributions to nursing as an unscheduled care service manager and early intervention for psychosis team lead at NHS Dumfries and Galloway, and wishes David every success with his career in the years ahead.
