That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen Muslims on distributing over 160 free meals to people in need during the relaunch of its FoodBox initiative; notes that the event took place on 28 August 2024 on the square outside the St Nicholas Centre in Aberdeen city centre, with food provided by sponsor Bombay Palace; understands that the FoodBox initiative is scheduled to take place on the last Wednesday of every month between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm; believes that this initiative is an excellent example of people, organisations and businesses coming together to support those in need in communities; thanks the Aberdeen Muslims volunteers for giving up their time and Bombay Palace for its generosity in providing the food for distribution, and wishes all involved with FoodBox all the best going forward, while also looking forward to the day such initiatives are not required to address poverty and hunger in society.
