That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Tamil Sangam for hosting a wonderful celebration of Diwali, which is also known as Deepvali, in Maryhill Community Centre on 11 November 2023; understands that over 400 members were present and that the celebrations included food, dancing and singing performances; recognises that Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil and light over darkness; understands that Glasgow Tamil Sangam is a community organisation, which was set up to nurture Tamil culture, art and literature, and commends the Glasgow Tamil Sangam for all of the work that it does for the Tamil community in Glasgow, and the surrounding area, and for putting together a successful and vibrant Diwali celebration incorporating the flavours, colours and sounds of South India.
