Govan HELP – The Govan Pantry is Shortlisted for Prestigious 2023 SURF Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Govan HELP – The Govan Pantry on being shortlisted in the Community Led Regeneration category of the prestigious 2023 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration; recognises that this award identifies and celebrates best practice, innovation and achievement in interventions that improve Scottish communities; acknowledges that The Govan Pantry started as a foodbank in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and has now evolved into a community subsidised shop that offers its 2,834 members from the local community the chance to purchase up to 10 items of food and hygiene products for a weekly membership fee of £3; understands that SURF, Scotland’s Regeneration Forum, is a charity and a membership body of more than 300 organisations, which runs an annual awards scheme to recognise impact and achievement in community regeneration across the country, and wishes Govan HELP – The Govan Pantry good luck when the winners are revealed on 7 December 2023.
