The Scottish Government has not undertaken design work in relation to quad-tracking the railway between Hyndland East Junction and Finnieston East Junction (located at the site of the former Kelvinhaugh Junction).

The ScotWind leasing round has secured £755m for the public purse.

Decisions on further allocations of ScotWind funding and the establishment of a ScotWind Wealth Fund will be taken at future fiscal events.

As confirmed in the answer to S7W-00736 on 16 June 2026, the Scottish Government has not withdrawn from the Wastewater Analysis for Narcotics Detection (WAND) programme.

The latest WAND programme report published by the Home Office – covering a period when Scottish sites were included – did not provide a national estimate of drug consumption for Scotland. The report is available here - Wastewater analysis - estimating drug consumption.

Public Health Scotland do publish statistics relating to drug prevalence in Scotland, the last publication was in March 2026 - Estimated prevalence of opioid dependence in Scotland.

Since 1 January 2021, a total of 15 planning appeals for renewable energy developments in the rest of Scotland have been allowed and 11 have been dismissed.

The breakdown of that total by year and by planning authority are set out in the following table. The information includes appeals dismissed for context.

Local authorities have a duty under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to manage and maintain local roads and associated infrastructure in their area. The Scottish Government does not make assessments on local authority inspection procedures or hold details of any lapsed inspections or assessments of their infrastructure.

The Scottish Government is aware of the issues being experienced by the Scottish pig industry. I met with representatives on 10 June and I am considering what support the Scottish Government can provide, both in the short term and in the longer term to ensure the sustainability of this important sector.

A scheme to replace fire-damaged tiles at the M8 Charing Cross Underpass is currently in development, following a vehicle fire in April 2025 that caused damage to a section of the underpass’ tiled lining. Works are programmed to commence in October, with completion expected by December 2026.

These matters will be taken forward as part of the Government’s wider commitment to public sector reform and Parliament will be updated on any actions in the normal fashion.

Decisions on equipment within the Police Scotland fleet, including defibrillators, are an operational matter for the Chief Constable.

The Chief Constable is responsible for the policing of Scotland and is accountable to the Scottish Police Authority, rather than to Scottish Ministers directly. Therefore, the information requested is not held centrally by the Scottish Government. Police Scotland may be able to provide this information.
