Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)

To ask the Scottish Executive when the development study considering an hourly train service between Edinburgh and Dunbar and the building of new stations at East Linton and Reston will start.

First ScotRail will shortly be asked to commence the study which will examine the benefits of an hourly service to Dunbar and the development of a business case for enhanced services, including the potential for new stations at East Linton and Reston on the Edinburgh to Berwick-Upon-Tweed corridor more generally.

The study is expected to take no more than a year and will follow STAG principles. The output of the study will inform future franchise specifications.
