To ask the Scottish Government whether it has been provided with a copy of the contract between NHS Lanarkshire and Atos Healthcare, to deliver the personal independence payment assessments of sick and disabled people and, if so, whether it will publish this in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe).

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S4W-10857 by Michael Matheson on 16 November 2012, for what reason there are no plans to publish the data underpinning the Healthcare Improvement Scotland report, Update Report on Scottish Pain Management Services.

The information requested is being collated. I will write to the member as soon as the information is available and a copy will be placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (Bib. number 54547).

Healthcare Improvement Scotland has also advised that the data relating to NHS board service provision will be made available on the Chronic Pain Managed Knowledge Network website from 7 December 2012.

To ask the Scottish Government what the nature of the relationship is between NHS Lanarkshire and Salus.

Salus is an operational department of NHS Lanarkshire. Salus’ core business is the provision of occupational health services to NHS Lanarkshire staff. In addition, Salus undertakes commercial contracts for the provision of occupational health services to other public and private sector bodies. These contracts, and the detailed arrangements relating to them, are a matter for Salus and NHS Lanarkshire. All surpluses generated by Salus commercial activities are returned to NHS Lanarkshire and used to support service provision. Detailed figures are not held centrally.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will uprate the health grant for those affected by thalidomide from the 2010 baseline and, if so, by how much.

The Scottish Government is committed to establishing an appropriate level of funding which ensures the best possible outcome for Scottish Thalidomiders. We are currently working closely with the Department of Health and other devolved administrations to agree the level, and duration of that future funding.

The Department of Health is currently discussing options with treasury and we hope to make an announcement in the coming weeks.

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the answer to question S4W-10857 by Michael Matheson on 16 November 2012 , whether it will place the data underpinning the Healthcare Improvement Scotland report, Update Report on Scottish Pain Management Services, including the current number of health professionals working with chronic pain and patient waiting lists for first and second appointments, in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe).

In addition Healthcare Improvement Scotland has advised that they will be posting the data in relation to NHS board service provision on the Chronic Pain Managed Knowledge Network website.

In relation to waiting times, I refer the member to the answer to question S4W-10791 on 14 November 2012.
