Parliamentary questions can be asked by any MSP to the Scottish Government or the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body. The questions provide a means for MSPs to get factual and statistical information.

  • Written questions must be answered within 10 working days (20 working days during recess)
  • Other questions such as Topical, Portfolio, General and First Minister's Question Times are taken in the Chamber

To ask the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to engage with young people, particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may not have engaged with learning during the initial lockdown and who may not have returned when schools reopened.

To ask the Scottish Government what its response is to reports that employers are asking staff to take unpaid leave to look after their children when they are advised to self-isolate, and whether it considers that such action is a breach of the Equality Act 2010 by primarily indirectly discriminating against women.
