Okay. I think that that is as much of an answer as you are able to give.
I will bring in Finlay Carson next.

Good morning, and welcome to the sixth meeting in session 7 of the Rural Affairs Committee. Please ensure that all electronic devices are switched to silent. We have received no apologies, but our deputy convener, Andrew Baxter, is joining us remotely.
Our first item of business is a decision on taking business in private. Item 3 is consideration of the evidence that we will hear from our witnesses this morning on the topics of marine and fisheries, and item 4 is consideration of our work programme. Does the committee agree to take items 3 and 4 in private?
Members indicated agreement.

Does anyone else want to come in on that question?

I am interested in the extent to which the sectors that you represent have an agreed model. I am not saying that you agree on absolutely everything, but I am interested in where there is consensus among all the fishing sectors as to what an inshore governance model would look like. Where is there agreement? Elaine, you mentioned funding, and planning is another area. I am interested in what the foundation for the future might be. I am sure that there are lots of areas that you do not agree on, but which areas do you think you agree on?

Welcome back. Our second panel of witnesses is comprised of environmental non-governmental organisation stakeholders. We have around one hour and 20 minutes for the discussion, so, as always, I will be grateful if questions and answers can be kept as concise as possible.
Before moving to questions, I will introduce the witnesses: Calum Duncan, principal policy specialist with the Marine Conservation Society; Jessica Jones, convener of the marine group, Scottish Environment LINK; Annabel Lawrence, member of the Community Association of Lochs and Sounds, which is a member group of the Coastal Communities Network; Heather McFarlane, senior project manager at Fidra; and Phil Taylor, director of Open Seas. I remind everyone that they do not need to operate their microphones, as our broadcasting team will do that.
I will ask the first question, which is about the state of the marine environment. I am interested in your assessment of that and, in particular, how we achieve good environmental status on the back of the report that was produced by Environmental Standards Scotland on seafloor integrity. Who would like to go first?

If there are no additional points, I want to ask a final question. I see that Calum Duncan wants to come in—please be very brief.
