I think that that is the case. Do our colleagues from the Scottish Parliament information centre have any comments on that? They do not, but Kate Nevens wishes to comment.

There are no further questions from members.
Paul, thank you again for your presentation today. How would you like to conclude? What are the key points that you are making? The questions from Rachael Hamilton brought them out, in fact. We need the jobs and the energy from oil and gas to continue to give us a chance of developing a supply chain and a jobs future from other energy that can take its place.

Thank you very much, Paul. My apologies that the audio at this end was a bit unclear, but I hope that members were able to gather as much as possible from your presentation. Kate Campbell has the first questions.

Yes, and the majority of ScotWind is floating offshore wind—is that right?

I am cognisant of time, folks, and we are trying to wrap up by 11:30. I have Gary down to ask a question, and we will then move to summing up.

As there are no further questions, we will wrap up. I thank the witnesses for all their comments. It is a very wide and technical subject, and very system focused. I am not sure that putting questions to a panel of witnesses is the best way to get answers, but I think that we have done a good job of teasing out a number of the issues. Are there any further points that you would like to make, or do you feel that the conversation has covered as much as you would like? You seem to be fairly happy.
Again, thank you very much for coming in and being so candid with your information. A bit like the conversation that we had last week on the more economic side of things, we are just scratching the surface, but I feel that we have unearthed a few good themes that are worth exploring again.
That concludes our business in public today. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 22 September, when we will take further evidence on the Scottish economy, labour market and energy sector, which will be another broad discussion.

You raised the point that, if a project’s planning application fails, you take it out of the grid planning. Is there a mechanism that works the other way round so that, if you feel that something does not meet the needs of the grid, it can be taken out of physical planning or highlighted as not meeting the needs of the grid?
