Health, Care and Sport Committee [Draft]

That is a good point. We will take away the multiyear funding point, which is often well made, but it is interesting to hear how you have creatively worked around that by assuming that you have four-year funding. I commend sportscotland for doing so, because that approach has helped. Mr Muir also made an interesting point about increased bureaucracy and continually applying for money.
I thank all the witnesses for your work in providing written submissions and for coming along today. A lot of interesting points have been made. I am sure that we will take what we can from them and that they will come up again.
Next week, we will complete pre-budget scrutiny. We will hear from the Scottish Government and will then submit something to make a few key points to the Government.
We now move into private session.

Would it be possible to share that information, or is the work ongoing?

You have anticipated that we are coming to the end of the evidence session—you were watching the clock.

You have made your pitch, which was very good and interesting.
What would the other witnesses like to leave us with? You can spend a couple of minutes setting out what we should remember and include in our letters to ministers.

On that point, perhaps we can ask why there are so many children going to school at five who are not potty trained. Again, that is beyond your remit, but I am putting that up against the assertion that children are all developing so well.
I see that Ms Payne would like to come in.

Mr Pearson, I have a couple of questions on prevention and on your role. You explained quite a bit about your role. How does the patient safety commissioner interact with it? Do you have any comments on how that is going?
