Thank you for those answers. Chris, there is an extra dynamic in Edinburgh in that there appears to be a long-standing cross-community approach to getting on the bus rather than the bus being seen as a last resort. Has that impacted behaviour on buses in the city region?

Reference was made to Scotland falling behind England and Wales. Are there measures specific to rural areas in English and Welsh legislation that could be applicable here?

Thank you. I want to turn from franchising, which I am broadly in favour of, towards behaviour on buses. I have heard some horror stories from my constituents about the poor behaviour of some bus users and about that being a block to people getting on the bus, because they feel as though there are almost no limits on it and there is no control over it. What are your reflections on that, and what measures do you think need to be brought in to curtail some of the poor behaviour on our buses?

I did not say that it did.

Just before we move on to talk about solutions, I want to ask about the issue of perception, which you have just touched on. As you have said, antisocial behaviour has undoubtedly risen on buses. What do you think are the factors behind that?

Part of the point that I was trying to get to on bus priority measures is that, for example, the route that I mentioned between Dundee and Kirriemuir serves a lot of very small communities and covers a large rural expanse. Those roads might not always be suited to bus priority measures. Are specific additional actions required on top of the measures in urban areas, or does it come back to the points that you just made?

Good morning. I want to continue with the NHS for now, then I will turn to Shetland Islands Council.
I have a letter here from the Royal National Institute of Blind People, which makes it very clear that the reduction of these flights could reduce the clinical capacity of the visiting hospital eye service by more than one third. Do you agree with that assessment?

We touched on your cost modelling. Have you done any projections of the impact on patient outcomes in ophthalmology?

Before I turn to my main thrust of questioning, I will pick up a point about fuel costs that you made in your opening statement. Will you outline the scale of the fuel costs to the committee?

I can see on page 3 of your accounts, on fuel and carbon price risk, that you enter into forward contracts to try to mitigate the price of fuel.
