Do you want to come in, Simon?

Thank you for adding that point and repeating that commitment—it is helpful to know.
I turn to the winter timetabling changes, which I thank Simon McNamara for making me aware of last week. Has there been much proactive publicity from Loganair yet on those changes?

Were any significant concerns raised by stakeholders when you made them aware of the changes that you were proposing?

Okay. Understood.
I have no further questions, convener.

When the committee heard from Paul Kelsall earlier this year as part of our evidence session on the Inverness flights situation, communication between HIAL and Transport Scotland about that crisis was an issue of concern that we picked up on. Have you reflected further on what happened then? Have any lessons been learned to ensure that such a situation does not arise again and that such matters are resolved quickly?
That question is for Paul Kelsall in the first instance.

I will carry on the line of questioning around price point and ADS. Ronnie, you mentioned that some of your routes operate without any Government intervention, but I would strongly contest that. I think that all the commercial operations that your company undertakes in Scotland have some level of Government intervention.
We have just talked, following the convener’s questioning, about ADS. Undoubtedly, that scheme has an impact on the profitability of your company and its operations. Your passenger operations are underpinned by tickets that are being paid for through the public sector, whether that is health boards, local authorities or other agencies. That is another form of intervention, and the airports that you are flying in and out of in the Highlands and Islands are heavily subsidised and operated by a Government agency, Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd, so it is unfair to characterise those other routes as being without Government intervention. Do you have any reflections on that?

We have just heard from Loganair about some of the issues across the network at the moment. I want to pick up on some of those points and to ask about air services more generally across the areas that you represent.
Some uncertainty was created by the removal of flights from Inverness to the Western Isles and the northern isles. That issue has been resolved for now, but changes have been made to the timetable for the winter period, and island communities have raised concerns about the price of flights and timetabling in general. Will you offer some initial reflections on the impact that all of that is having on island communities? I put that to Laura Cromarty in the first instance.

I will pick up on the point about using ADS as a lever. We talked about ADS in our discussions with Loganair and the representatives from communities. ADS is supposed to make air travel more affordable for islanders, but I am more interested in the wider impact of timetabling on the services that are available, as we heard from the community groups. ADS provides islanders with a subsidy on ticket prices, but we have no control over what Loganair charges for its tickets and there is no obligation in relation to the service that it delivers, so ADS is a pretty weak lever. Could that tool be used in a more effective way to deal with the other issues that stakeholders have identified?

There has been talk of further planned reductions in midwinter—perhaps in January. When will you communicate those decisions?

Thank you, Lucy. You have raised some important points.
My last question is about interisland connectivity, which Martin Joyce spoke about. I would like to bring in Uisdean Robertson to speak about his experience with the PSO route that the comhairle supports between Benbecula and Stornoway. After Loganair withdrew from the service, the council had to look at alternative providers. Linked to that, Uisdean, could you touch on any experience that you have had with the accessibility concerns that Lucy Mulvagh spoke about?
