Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I remind everyone to switch off their mobile phones. No apologies have been received.
I welcome Richard Simpson MSP, who is here as a substitute for Bill Butler MSP, but only for the purposes of agenda item 2, as permitted by rules 12.2A.2 and 12.2A.3(b) of standing orders. Under agenda item 1, I ask Dr Simpson to declare any relevant interests.
I draw members' attention to my written declaration of interests, but I do not believe that it contains anything that is particularly relevant to the work of the Justice Committee.
