I wish to say something before we begin the afternoon’s business. Further to today’s point of order after First Minister’s questions, I inform the chamber that I acknowledge that Mr Gibson did not make the initial remark that I found unacceptable. That remark was made by Mr Maxwell, who has made a full apology.
I have apologised to Mr Gibson for my misidentification. However, I have made it clear to him that he could have dealt with the issue in other ways than having a dialogue with me across the floor of the chamber. I now consider the matter closed.
