The Convener (Neil Findlay)

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the 10th meeting in 2017 of the Health and Sport Committee.

I ask everyone in the gallery to ensure that their mobile phones are in silent mode. You can, of course, use mobile devices for social media, but please do not take photographs or film proceedings.

The first item on our agenda is declarations of interests. In accordance with section 3 of the “Code of Conduct for Members of the Scottish Parliament”, I invite Jenny Gilruth to make a brief declaration of any interests that she has that are relevant to the remit of the committee.

Good morning. It is great to be here. I am the parliamentary liaison officer to the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills.

Thank you. Clare Haughey, too, has a declaration to make.

Clare Haughey (Rutherglen) (SNP)

Yes. Thank you, convener, for the opportunity to update the committee on my entry in the register of members’ interests. As of yesterday I hold, with Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board, an honorary contract that will allow me to fulfil my clinical practice hours in order that I can maintain my nurse registration. I will receive no remuneration for the clinical hours that I work there.

The Convener

Okay. Thank you, Jenny, and welcome to the committee. I also thank Clare for updating us. As agreed at the previous meeting, we now move into private session.

10:16 Meeting continued in private until 11:22.
