Decision on Taking Business in Private

Good morning and welcome to the 14th meeting in 2014 of the Education and Culture Committee. I remind everyone that electronic devices should be switched off as they interfere with the broadcasting system.

Agenda item 1 is to decide whether to take item 4 in private and whether to consider our work programme, annual report and draft stage 1 report on the Historic Environment Scotland Bill in private at future meetings. Do members agree?

Before I move on to agenda item 2, I welcome back Joan McAlpine. She is substituting for Colin Beattie, who is absent today. I also welcome Liz Smith, who is attending as a member of the Scottish Parliament interested in the Historic Environment Scotland Bill.
