Deputy Convener

The Convener

The next item is choice of deputy convener, the procedure for which is outlined in a paper from the clerks. The Parliament has agreed that only a member of the SNP is eligible to be deputy convener. Unless there has been a coup d’état in the past 24 hours, I understand that John Wilson is the SNP’s nominee. As no one seems to be shaking their head wildly at the suggestion, I assume that he is still the nominee, and I ask the committee to agree that he be chosen as the committee’s deputy convener.

John Wilson was chosen as deputy convener.

I congratulate John on his appointment and look forward to working with him over the next few years.
