The next item on the agenda is the election of a deputy convener. As the Parliament has specified in S7M-00269, only members of the Scottish National Party are eligible to be chosen as deputy convener of the Public Petitions Committee. I remind members that eligible members can nominate themselves, or be nominated by another member, and I now invite nominations for deputy convener.
I nominate David Torrance.

I congratulate David Torrance on his election as deputy convener. I look forward to working with him—he is a veteran of this committee and is well associated with it, so it is great to have him back on board.
