Questions to the Cabinet Secretary
Background
The Health, Social Care and Sport Committee held an evidence session with Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care, on 12 September 2023.
The Committee is responsible for scrutinising the Scottish Government’s delivery of Health and Social Care objectives. To this end, ahead of the session with the Cabinet Secretary, the Committee looked to engage with members of the public to hear what questions they have about the Scottish Government’s health and social care policy and services.
Aims:
Suggesting questions to be put to the Cabinet Secretary would help MSPs understand some of the key concerns people have in relation to health and social care in Scotland.
Once the questions had been submitted, they were analysed to produce a note on the main themes which was then presented to the Committee ahead of its meeting with the Cabinet Secretary. Only questions that are relevant to the Cabinet Secretary’s area of responsibility, namely NHS Recovery, Health, and Social Care were considered for possible inclusion.
