Health and Sport Committee
The Cross-border Health Care (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 were laid before the Parliament on 13 November and referred to the Health and Sport Committee.
The Regulations are subject to the affirmative procedure (Rule 10.6). It is for the Health and Sport Committee to recommend to the Parliament whether the Regulations should be approved.
At its meeting on 24 November 2020, the Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee considered the instrument and determined that it did not need to draw the attention of the Parliament to the instrument on any grounds within its remit.
The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport, Jeane Freeman MSP, has, by motion S5M-23423, proposed that the Committee recommends approval of the Regulations.
At its meeting on the 15 December 2020, the Committee took evidence on The Cross-border Health Care (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 from—
Joe FitzPatrick MSP, Minister for Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing
John Brunton, Senior Policy Manager, Safety, Openness and Learning Unit, Healthcare Quality and Improvement Directorate, Scottish Government
Arezo Darvishzadeh, Legal Directorate, Scottish Government
Following the evidence session Joe FitzPatrick MSP, Minister for Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing, moved motion S5M-23423—
That the Health and Sport Committee recommends that the Cross-border Health Care (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 [draft] be approved.
The motion was agreed to.
