The Scottish Parliament is now dissolved ahead of the election on Thursday 7 May 2026.

During dissolution, there are no MSPs and no parliamentary business can take place.

Criminal Procedure (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill

The Criminal Procedure (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill was introduced on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 [Session 2]

This was a Government Bill. Government Bills before September 2012 were known as Executive Bills.



Bill becomes an Act

The Bill was passed on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 and became an Act on Friday, June 4, 2004

If the Bill is passed by MSPs, it can then get Royal Assent and become an Act.
