The Scottish Parliament is now dissolved ahead of the election on Thursday 7 May 2026.

During dissolution, there are no MSPs and no parliamentary business can take place.

Housing (Scotland) Bill

The Housing (Scotland) Bill was introduced on 18 December 2000 [Session 1]

This was a Government Bill. Government Bills before September 2012 were known as Executive Bills.


Bill becomes an Act

The Bill was passed on 13 June 2001 and became an Act on 18 July 2001

If the Bill is passed by MSPs, it can then get Royal Assent and become an Act.
