Why should we believe that more of the same approach will produce any better results than those seen to date? On that final point, I would point out that, in a statement today, the Church of Scotland said that the Executive was to be commended for its input to the efforts to resolve difficulties in care homes in Scotland.

We discussed the proposal for the introductory report informally with the Executive, which agreed to lend us support to ensure that the information that we receive is up to date, accurate and appropriate. On 1 April, there will be significant changes in the delivery of community care and there will be further changes on 1 July.
