Skills Development Scotland has invested £2.3 million in the apprenticeship programme in North Ayrshire in 2016-17, and, at the end of 2017, there were 800 apprentices in training.
Is it possible that there will be greater demand for prisoner programmes under the new regime, particularly if prisoners think that taking programmes will make them more likely to get parole?

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on the progress of the Learning Estate Investment Programme. To date, 9 school infrastructure projects have opened through the £2bn Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP).
