Dates of recess are decided in advance by the Parliament on a motion of the Parliamentary Bureau (Rule 2.3.1) and are advertised on the 3 Parliament’s website. 1.10 In a typical year, there is a one-week February recess, a two-week Easter recess, a two-month summer recess (usually covering all of July and August), a two-week October recess and a two-week Christmas recess (lasting into the new year).
