United Kingdom Internal Market Bill 2019-21
At the conclusion of the debate, the Parliament agreed the following motion by 92 votes to 31:
That the Parliament calls on the UK Government to withdraw its proposals for a UK internal market regime, which are incompatible with devolution and the democratic accountability of the Scottish Parliament; notes that the proposals would be detrimental to businesses, consumers and citizens across Scotland; agrees that they would fundamentally undermine legitimate devolved policy choices on a range of matters, including the environment, public health and social protections; these proposals would hinder the capacity to utilise state aid interventions, including public ownership, to generate locally-rooted economic development grounded in local democracy; notes that the consultation on the proposals was only four weeks long and almost entirely covered a period when the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly were in recess...
