Point of Order

James Dornan (Glasgow Cathcart) (SNP)

On a point of order, Presiding Officer. Can you give me some guidance on how a member would correct inaccuracies that they made in their contributions? Earlier today, Monica Lennon made it clear that she believed that the minister spoke only to people he wanted to speak to or who agreed with his position. I became convener of the Local Government and Communities Committee at the start of stage 2 of the Planning (Scotland) Bill, and there is not a member of that committee who, if they were speaking honestly, would not say that, at every meeting that the minister attended—he was there almost every week—he made it clear that he would speak to anybody about any issue regarding the bill. I think that the aspersions on his reputation that were cast today should be corrected by Monica Lennon.

The Presiding Officer (Ken Macintosh)

I thank the member for his point of order, which was similar to the one that was raised by Rachael Hamilton earlier. There is a corrections procedure, either through the Official Report or through the member making a statement. It is up to the member concerned to decide whether their statement needs to be corrected.

I thank the member for giving me advance notice of his point of order.
