That the Parliament recognises the success of businesses in the Mid Scotland and Fife region at the recent Scottish Asian Food Awards 2023 ceremony in Glasgow; notes that Namaste Indian Restaurant was named winner in the Best in Fife category, with the Dunfermline-based eatery also achieving a highly commended ranking in the Outstanding Asian Restaurant of the Year category; understands that Koku Shi, also of Dunfermline, was runner-up and gained a highly commended recognition in the Best of Fife category, and that Koku Shi’s sister restaurant in Kirkcaldy won the best Japanese Restaurant of the Year award; further understands that Mystic Dragon, in Cupar, received a highly commended recognition in the Asian Food of the Year category, and that CombiniCo, in St Andrews, won the category for Takeaway and Home Delivery of the Year; appreciates that Udon Thai Street Food, based in Leven, won the Best Thai Restaurant of the Year award; recognises that the Curry Takeaway of the Year award went to Aladdins Indian Takeaway, in Perth, and that Pegasus Kebab House, also of Perth, was highly commended in the Turkish Restaurant of the Year category; further recognises that Voter’s Choice Restaurant of the Year was awarded to Cidsin Bistro, in Pitlochry; considers that the awards celebrate culinary excellence and cultural diversity within the Asian food industry in Scotland, and that these awards are a recognition of the high quality of standards, commitment and dedication from businesses in the Mid Scotland and Fife region, and extends its very best well wishes to all of the winners for continued success in the future.
