  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 22 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07966

That the Parliament congratulates Callum McLelland, from Port Glasgow, as he prepares to premiere his debut to local cinema audiences; understands that Callum, aged 13, has been busy putting the final touches on his police comedy drama, Sharp Instinct, before it is set to screen in the Waterfront Cinema in March 2023; recognises that Callum has been shooting, creating, editing and conducting all the behind-the-scenes work, including creating a trailer, after receiving a bursary from his school, Notre Dame High School, to help fund an Introduction to Filmmaking course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; notes that Callum started the project in late 2021 and has asked filmgoers who attend the premiere at the Greenock cinema to make a donation to Downs Syndrome Scotland, and wishes Callum all the best as he prepares to showcase his work and as he embarks on his chosen career path.
