That the Parliament congratulates Dupre Strutt on being appointed an MBE in the New Year's Honours for services to maritime safety in Orkney; understands that Dupre has given nearly 40 years' service to the RNLI Kirkwall Lifeboat as a crewman, mechanic and latterly coxswain, over which time he has been involved in over 300 rescues and saved more than 60 lives; notes that Dupre has also served as the RNLI area lifesaving manager for Scotland, where, it understands, he helped to build strong relationships with other maritime agencies to bring swift resolutions to many incidents across the country; believes that this is well-deserved recognition of Dupre's lifelong commitment to the RNLI, following in the footsteps of his father and reflecting the high esteem in which Dupre is held amongst his colleagues and the wider local community; acknowledges that Dupre remains closely involved with RNLI Kirkwall as a volunteer, helping local and regional fundraising activities and the training of the next generation of lifeboat crew; thanks Dupre for what it sees as his tireless service and selfless efforts to maritime safety, and wishes him and his family all the very best for the future.
