  • Date lodged: Friday, 25 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06938

That the Parliament congratulates Sergeant Judson Howie, who is based at Kirkcaldy Police Station, after being nominated for the Scottish Police Federation’s (SPF) Cops’ Cop of the Year Award for the dedication he has shown to his colleagues; understands that the award allows officers to be recognised and appreciated by their peers for demonstrating what the SPF values as being a police officer by being the colleague who always helps, who supports, who volunteers, who steps forward and who cares; further understands that Sgt Howie set up a wellbeing cupboard at the station where he works, which he fills with juice, toiletries, charging cables and boot polish; recognises that Sgt Howie has been praised for regularly going above and beyond the call of duty by making his colleagues’ welfare a top priority and is now planning an outdoor safe space with two benches, fencing and plants, giving colleagues a place to rest; commends Sgt Howie for his dedication in supporting his colleagues, and wishes him all the best for the award ceremony and the very best for the future.
