Asda Foundation Grants Across Fife

That the Parliament welcomes the news that with the support of the Community Champions in Asda stores across Mid Scotland and Fife, the Asda Foundation has awarded local groups with Empowering Local Communities funding totalling £4,029; understands that a sample of these groups include Home Start Dunfermline, who were awarded £500, and the Matthew Fyfe Care Home, which received £525 via the Asda St Leonard's store; notes that via Asda Glenrothes, Leslie Baptist Church Community Group received £500, FEAT Trading CIC received £590 and Arden House Projects received £800; acknowledges that Asda Foundation’s Empowering Local Communities grant is for local groups aimed at supporting a broad range of activities, which, it believes, contribute towards transforming communities and improving lives; understands that the Foundation’s U18 Better Starts grant is focused on supporting local groups to deliver initiatives that improve the lives of children and young people, particularly those providing support during the school holidays; further understands that through this, in Mid Scotland and Fife, with the help of the Community Champion in Asda Glenrothes, the Foundation has awarded The Young Glens with U18 Better Starts funding, totalling £360; understands that in 2021 the Asda Foundation invested more than £900,000 in community projects and good causes across the country, which, it believes, have made a real difference to the wider community, and commends the Foundation, all staff involved and those involved with all the charities across Scotland on their sterling endeavours.
