That the Parliament warmly congratulates Ian Robertson from Cupar in Fife on being named Apprentice of the Year 2022 by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI); understands that the Fife College Automotive Engineering student was named joint winner of the prestigious award at the IMI’s Annual Awards in London; acknowledges that the award recognises Ian’s efforts for excelling in his Modern Apprenticeship and commended him for overcoming the challenges of learning in lockdown and demonstrating outstanding drive and enthusiasm; notes that the award from the IMI follows his recent appearance at the finals of the WorldSkills UK competition, at which he was highly commended in the Automotive Technology category; understands that Ian is undertaking his Modern Apprentice with James Moodie Motor Engineers in Leven, a family business where two previous generations have also won equivalents of the same awards while studying at Elmwood College in Fife; appreciates that the IMI Annual Awards ceremony was attended by over 350 members, supporters and industry partners in London and applauds IMI's efforts to celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and organisations committed to driving continued development and high standards in the automotive sector; commends and applauds Ian for all his hard work, determination and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills, and extends its very best wishes to him for continued success in the future.
