  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 13 January 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-20399

That the Parliament congratulates Derek Flood, a welfare rights development officer with Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), on winning the Leadership Award at the Scottish Public Service Awards; understands that Derek’s award recognised how he brought together teams to improve the lives of some of Inverclyde’s most vulnerable citizens; notes that staff and volunteers from Ardgowan Hospice’s Compassionate Inverclyde project also celebrated success in winning the Colin Mair Award for Policy in Practice for transforming attitudes and everyday practices around loneliness, social isolation, death and bereavement; understands that Home 1st, the Inverclyde HSCP team that works with adults and older people, was nominated for the Campbell Christie Public Service Reform Award but was runner-up to NHS 24’s Mental Health Hub; believes that it is a credit to the work going on in Inverclyde to be nominated for three prestigious Scottish Public Service Awards, and thanks all the staff and volunteers involved in these projects for their efforts.
