U-Evolve, Edinburgh

  • Submitted by: Jeremy Balfour, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 14 November 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-19887

That the Parliament congratulates U-Evolve, which supports 11- to 18-year-olds in Edinburgh who face mental health challenges and are disengaged from education, on receiving £2,000 from the Scotch Whisky Action Fund; understands that this will help fund its project, TALK, which will work directly with a group of up to 15 young people who have a family history of, or are at-risk from, alcohol misuse, by providing them with weekly podcasting sessions over six months that will give them the opportunity to discuss the potential consequences of such abuse, such as antisocial behaviour and expulsion from school, and wishes U-Evolve and all involved with the project the best of luck.
