Inaugural All About Barrhead Awards

That the Parliament congratulates the All About Barrhead Business Improvement District (BID) on holding the first All About Barrhead Awards, which took place on 31 May 2019 at the Dalmeny Park Hotel; understands that it was a celebration of the positive impact that businesses, organisations and individuals have had on the community; notes that over 400 nominations were received across seven categories, including Employee of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Young Person of the Year and Barrhead Star; commends Employee of the Year Archie McIntyre, runner-up Kirsty Lafferty, and nominees Lynn Forrester, Fiona Fulton and John Galley; Innovator of the Year Auchenback Active, runner-up Pioneer Mutual and nominees F & M Hairdressing, Greenhouse Café and Levern Valley Defib; Impact in the Community winner Include Me 2 Club, runner-up Helping Hand G78 and nominees 3rd Barrhead & District Pipe Band, Barrhead Boxing Club and Barrhead Housing Association; Customer Excellence winner Bluestone Giftshops, runner-up Davie the Barbers and nominees Café 135, F & M Hairdressing and Planet Play; Young Person of the Year Lauren Cosgrove, runner-up Marissa Roxburgh and nominees Erin Brown, Niamh Junner and Emily Wilson; Family Business of the Year Catherine Rose, runner-up D. Moodie & Co and nominees Bickets, Country Feeds and McCabe Opticians; and Barrhead Star Paul McIlvenny, runner-up Janette Hughes and nominees Rita Connely, Jim McGauley and Annmarie Strain; congratulates the BID and all involved on a great evening, and hopes to see the All About Barrhead Awards become a key event in Barrhead’s calendar.
