Dundee Artist Raising Money for ARCHIE Foundation

  • Submitted by: Bill Bowman, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 15 May 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-17311

That the Parliament congratulates the Dundee artist, Douglas Roulston, and a team of 12 volunteers, who lifted his latest creation to the summit of Ben Nevis; understands that his 5ft sculpture of Oor Wullie was carried up the mountain on a special stretcher as part of the Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail; notes that the statue will be auctioned off to raise funds for the ARCHIE Foundation and its work to improve children’s hospitals and wards, and looks forward to Oor Wullie’s reveal as part of this summer’s nationwide trail.
