That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Dundee will host the 2019 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Scotland Awards in the summer; understands that a shortlist of 23 nominees has been released, which includes Craig Nicol, who is the managing partner of Dundee-headquartered law firm, Thorntons Solicitors, and Jean-Christophe Granier, the joint managing director of Kirriemuir-based textiles firm, J&D Wilkie; notes that the awards will be chaired by Andy Lothian, who is the founder of the Dundee learning and development group, Insights; recognises that qualities such as resilience, communication with impact, consistent values and developing and leading others are hallmarks of a good entrepreneur, and wishes all nominees good luck for the event.
