Dr Pat Beausang’s Legacy in NHS Forth Valley

  • Submitted by: Angus MacDonald, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 21 February 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-15942

That the Parliament recognises the legacy of Dr Pat Beausang which has been commemorated in a memorial plaque unveiled at Forth Valley Royal Hospital’s (FVRH) lecture theatre, where annual lectures in the former consultants name are held; understands that Dr Beausang died in 2009 from leukaemia, and was a well-known, larger-than-life character who worked in NHS Forth Valley for nine years before his passing; notes that the plaque will hold the names of each guest speaker to deliver presentations at the lecture theatre; recognises the importance of NHS staff in Scotland and that, through their work, and lasting legacy, the country has a health service to be proud of; wishes all future speakers at FVRH lecture theatre the very best, and looks forward to seeing more names added to Dr Beausang’s commemorative plaque in the years to come.
