That the Parliament congratulates Jane Bruce, who is from Orkney, on being appointed an MBE in the 2019 New Year’s Honours list in recognition of her 40 years of unstinting service to education, including her work as a teacher and in the management of Papdale Primary School in Kirkwall; believes that this award is richly deserved and reflects the respect, admiration and deep fondness for Jane across the community, on whose behalf she has done so much over the years; thanks Jane for the contribution that she has made to enhancing the lives of so many young people in Orkney over the course of her career, and wishes her all the best with her well-earned retirement.
