That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the second Scottish Cancer Patient Experience Survey; notes that over 8,000 people in Scotland who have recently received cancer care will be sent a letter asking for their views about the care that they received; considers that those who choose to complete this survey can have a direct, personal impact on the standard of care provided in Scotland; believes that the survey results will enable stakeholders to identify the most appropriate areas in which to make service improvements, and will inform focused investment through the national cancer strategy; notes that this is the second Scottish Cancer Patient Experience Survey that has been developed in partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and the Scottish Government, and hopes that people who have been affected by cancer will share their views of the care that they have received so that stakeholders can continue to improve cancer services across the whole cancer journey, from detection through to treatment and beyond.
